ride by Caroline & Dave on behalf of Rob & Ruth

*****report by Caroline This ride was to be lead by Rob and Ruth but unfortunately Rob's back was not up to it! Six tandems left Denbies on a bright but cold morning. We set off up the zigzags to Box Hill. We were overtaken by many solos participating in an event which involved running as well as cycling. We got our breath back at the cafe at the top. Then we sailed down Pebble Hill and on through Brockham and Rusper. We carefully crossed the railway at Warnham and struugled up the hill to Rowhook. We were met at the Chequers by Rob and Ruth. After a good and leisurely lunch we rushed along Weare Street, through Capel and Newdigate and along Pixham Lane. We got back before Denbies closed and were rewarded with tea and cakes.
