Phil planned an easy ride today. The emphasis was on tracks and a chance to sample the microbrews on offer at our favourite Gribble Inn. We gathered from Worthing (Ingram B&B!), a local farm campsite and from homes further afield to begin our ride through the quiet of the Angmering Park Estate to coffee by the river in Arundel. Shortly after this things became a little unscheduled… Not surprisingly scouting of the ride was done after weeks of dry weather and the week before the ride the heavens opened. Although the sun was now shining the routes under the trees were still very boggy. It was the solo riders Caroline and Malcolm who took a tumble or two (or even three, Malcolm!). Hope you have both recovered from your cuts and bruises. We all needed a cleanup before entering the pub.

After lunch and a small incident involving a bicycle lock (we all know who to blame for this) we were off again. We completed our refreshment breaks at the miniature railway in Littlehampton with a selection of teas and ice creams before the short ride back to Angmering.
